Where do we see ourselves in 5 years? Unveiling Planet Indonesia’s Strategic Plan

Arms full of markers, post-it notes, paper, and small booklets with instructions, this year the Planet Indonesia team undertook a vast participatory strategic planning process. Building team consensus on where we are, where we want to go, and what we will have to do to get there was essential in laying down the foundations for our future success. By building solid theories of change, we can maximize our impact, benefiting the environment and support for the communities we partner with.

This first, full, five-year strategic plan provides a cohesive direction for the years 2022-2026 for Planet Indonesia operations and management, recognizing that the approach will be flexible, adaptive, and reviewed regularly. This plan prioritizes strategies for improving the outcomes of the core model, increasing the impact of the model, and supporting the effective implementation and planned growth of the model over the next five years.

YPI will continue strengthening internal and external organizational aspects to work with a high commitment to achieve the aspirations and goals set out in its vision and mission, not only so that they are ‘achieved’ but also so that they are sustainable. I express my deepest gratitude to all our partner communities, stakeholders, funding agencies, and—in particular—the government in West Kalimantan, who have offered their prayers, attention, and ongoing support to YPI to continue its beneficial work.
— Novia Sagita, Executive Director, Yayasan Planet Indonesia
