Good governance is the backbone for long-term success of community-led conservation.

We support the creation of local governance institutions that act as the decision-making body at the community level. Through these institutions, various services are co-designed and delivered to address the socio-economic hardships communities face and shift the ecological trajectory of an at-risk ecosystem. These institutions are the cornerstone of our approach. In establishing community-led governance institutions, local communities are put back behind the wheel to determine their own social-ecological future.

Our support includes providing training and technical assistance on developing work plans and standard operating procedures, conducting public consultations to ensure all stakeholders have a voice in resource management, supporting conflict resolution mechanisms, and assisting with evaluations.
